Tree Northampton, Inc. is an all-volunteer organization.
Tree Northampton volunteer opportunities and interests include:
Tree Planting: On-going in spring and fall months
Watering Young Trees: On-going in spring, summer and fall months
Planting and Maintenance at the Tree Nursery at the Community Garden: On-going
Tree Pruning: On-going during late winter and late fall months
Volunteers also contribute to Tree Northampton’s mission in the following ways:
- Tree Plantings throughout the city in small groups and on large community planting days
- Arbor Day Tree Give Away at City Hall
- Photographing trees planted for the Tree Gallery
- Organizing Plantings, Events and Volunteer Groups
- Restoring over-mulched trees

General Information for Volunteer Tree Planters:
-Once registered, we will automatically email you with details and directions.
-All volunteers must sign a completed Volunteer Waiver Form on arrival.
-Advance registration is required. If your plans change prior to the event, please update your registration status so we can secure the necessary number of volunteers.
-Be present for and actively listening to the Volunteer Leader at the start of the event and follow directions throughout the event.
-Please wear long pants and preferably work boots.
-Safety vests will be provided and must be worn by all volunteers.
-Water will be provided.

Tree Care Volunteers:
Tree Northampton is working to develop a program that allows volunteers to attend workshops on tree care including planting, watering and pruning. This will hopefully lead to nurturing and protecting trees under the guidance of the tree warden.
